Here at The Saint, we appreciate crazy people.
Especially those those types of crazy people who cast off
convention in order to do something great.
(We're often entertained by the crazy people who
cast off convention to do something terrible,
but we don't want to be friends with them.)
This is Kate and Johnny Brooks
of
A Future and A Hope.
They are our kind of crazy.
Kate and Johnny are American expatriates
who left the States with little more than
the clothes on their backs and
the voices in their heads and moved to
Nakuru, Kenya in order to be a blessing
to the people there.
In addition to taking seven orphaned girls
into their home as their own and opening
a home for orphaned boys with another family,
they spend their days taking care
of those who are often nearly decimated
by poverty and AIDS.
by poverty and AIDS.
They provide food, mattresses and other basic
necessities, as well as simple love and care
to those who otherwise would go without.
They don't do this with the backing of some
large mission organization or trust fund,
they do it by insanely trusting that the God
who sent them there will provide
everything that they need.
We, at The Saint, love these folks.
In order to be a blessing to them,
we have started a series of paintings
featuring their Kenyan girls.
All proceeds from the sale
of these paintings (not including
shipping costs) will go directly
and immediately to
A Future and a Hope.
The first three paintings in this
series are ready and available
for purchase.
They are 18" x 18"
oil on wood panel
framed and ready to hang.
Each painting is $250
plus shipping (which is about
$25 in the States).
The links below will take you
to my artfire.com shop where you can
purchase them.
So, there you have it.
Here's your chance to take part
in the madness.
Plus, you get a pretty good painting
out of the deal.
It's a win/win.
If you want to learn more about
Kate and Johnny
and the crazy stuff that they do
you can check out their website.
If you can't go a whole $250 for a painting
but you still want to help them out,
there's a Paypal button
on their site that can make that possible.
Anyway, that's that.
Later,
Sean
